MacSTAC, Vestal, NY

Brief Description

MacSTAC (Macintosh Southern Tier Apple Club) is a volunteer-based Macintosh computer support organization. We are a community group with members from all walks of life, careers, and levels of ability. We welcome all Mac users and people interested in Macs to improve their knowledge and, in turn, share their Mac knowledge with others. We also offer the latest news from Apple plus new programs and users tips. Each meeting includes a question and answer period. MacSTAC was founded in 1978 as an Apple II club and transitioned to the Macintosh computer in 1984. We meet on the third Thursday of each month, 6:30 p.m. at the Vestal Library south of Route 26 on the Vestal Parkway - Route 434. Our meetings consist of news from Apple, questions and answers, demonstrations of software and hardware, and a brief social time with soft drinks, cookies, and popcorn. The meeting normally concludes at 9 p.m.

We have approximately 50 members (plus spouses and significant others) and we normally have anywhere from 15-30 people attending each meeting. Visitors are more than welcome to come visit for a couple of meetings and bring a friend or family member. Our membership is $25.00 per year for a single or family membership. We have a web page (http://macstac.org) where we list upcoming events, show photos from prior meetings (Gallery), and list all the latestest Apple news (Blog). There is also a membership apppication form (.pdf) on the web site.
